Cyber Security concepts, threats, and solutions (Lecturer Notes)

In-class practices

The lecturer should start with a presentation about cyber security concepts (e.g., CIA, security landscape, type of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and existing solutions) based on the CyBOK Knowledge Areas materials and your own teaching slides. Next, follow the below steps:

1. Play one or more videos about real-world cyber-attacks.
   Example videos:
   Video 1: Norsk Hydro Cyber Attack
   Video 2: NHS Cyber Attack
2. Assign students to small groups and ask them to research:
   Top cyber threats in the last couple of years and their impacts (financial, reputation, safety, etc.)
   Cyber security solution(s) which can prevent or detect those threats (one or more)
3. Ask each group to present their findings. Encourage all students to discuss the proper solutions to detect and/or prevent the threats.
